Google Home opens MCP control to third-party AI agents

Google has opened an early-access MCP server for Google Home so compatible AI agents can inspect device state and history and issue device actions. The first rollout is for US Google Home Premium Advanced subscribers at $20 a month or $200 a year; setup requires a Google Cloud project, sensitive actions such as unlocking doors are blocked, and automation creation is not yet supported.

Huawei accelerates Ascend 960 chips as domestic AI demand outruns supply
