Huawei accelerates Ascend 960 chips as domestic AI demand outruns supply
Huawei says it cannot produce enough AI computing equipment to meet Chinese demand and is pulling forward its Ascend 960DT and 960PR roadmap for 2027. The company is also developing Peerium, an architecture intended to link up to one million processors, but the performance and scale claims remain Huawei projections reported from its Connect conference.
