Creator recommendations are becoming queryable
LTK's new Search tab combines interest-based discovery, AI-generated search overviews and a conversational shopping assistant grounded in recommendations from more than 500,000 creators that LTK describes as vetted. The company says its commerce graph draws on 15 years of activity and more than 100 billion signals across creators, consumers, products, brands and transactions.
LTK says retailer click-outs from search rose 84% after the new Search experience launched, creator-profile views from search rose nearly 50%, and daily users of LTK AI increased 89% month over month. Those are company-reported engagement changes. LTK does not publish an experiment showing that the AI or creator layer caused the increases.
Platforms are wiring creator performance into activation
TikTok One's Creator AI Search accepts a natural-language campaign brief and returns creator matches using signals such as content quality, reach and past brand-partnership performance. Its Content Suite goes one step closer to execution: an AI agent searches existing brand-relevant creator and user-generated videos, ranks them with TikTok performance signals, and lets advertisers organise creators and move selected content towards paid activation.
YouTube is building the commerce side around affiliate participation. On 23 September it said more than 1.3 million creators were in the YouTube Shopping Affiliate Program and that shopping gross merchandise value had grown 13-fold over two years. YouTube plans to expand the affiliate programme to 35 countries by year-end and add campaigns in which merchants can offer product-specific commissions or bonuses.
Each platform defines creator trust for itself
An IAB survey of 2,200 people in the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, Mexico and India who had used AI for shopping research in the previous three months found that 56% preferred AI recommendations incorporating creator perspectives and 65% reported more confidence when credible creator reviews informed the answer. The sample represents recent AI-shopping users rather than consumers generally.
The convergence is operational rather than standardised. LTK decides who counts as a vetted creator, TikTok owns the performance and campaign signals inside TikTok One, and YouTube controls affiliate eligibility and merchant incentives. These systems make creator reputation and conversion history easier for software to query and act on, but they do not create a portable or independently audited cross-platform measure of creator trust.
