Claude agents flag a phage reverse-transcriptase system, but ten reruns miss its repeat array
Anthropic’s preprint says 949 Claude Code sessions mined genomic data and surfaced ART, a reverse transcriptase linked to tandem DNA repeats and a partner gene. RNA sequencing supports expression of the array as discrete short RNAs, but ART’s function remains unknown and ten repeat campaigns failed to rediscover the defining array.
